Appreciation To Our Service Men And Woman Activity

We had a really great time with this activity. We each had treats to put on plates and made cards for the men and women who serve as Police Officers and Fire Fighters.

Once we got it all put together, we took the treats and card to each department.

First, we went to our Unified Fire Department and we were even given a tour of the station. Learned some pretty neat stuff like, they each take shifts of 48 hours and they stay at the station. There are individual rooms for each person. The average amount of calls they receive are 10 calls within 48 hours. They also respond to hazardous material situations and has a truck specifically for that.

Our next stop was the Sheriff Station. Since no one answered, we thought we would try the Taylorsville City Police Department. Unfortunately, the stations are closed to the public on Saturdays, so a dispatcher was kind enough to send an officer out to us. He was grateful for the the treats and the card and would share them with the rest of the officers he works with. And as you can see, it was snowing, but we had so much fun!

Thanks to ALL of the men and women who serve to protect us from harm, weather it be from other people, fires, floods, earthquakes and more! We are extremely grateful to you all!!!
